The local newspaper is reporting that Marietta PD has requested new radios; apparently, repair parts for the current units will not be available sometime in 2017.

(it's about 2/3 of the way down the article)

Don't know if this means Marietta PD will be switching to MARCS-IP; however, it does say that the new radios will be digital. Is $18,000 enough to switch to radios capable of operating on MARCS-IP? I have no idea how much those radios cost. The price does include a rebate for the trade-in of the current radios.
