I have a question. What is the color of the day being given on MECA. I heard IFD put out this moring at 8AM to all IFD Units, stations and Wishard units that the color of the day was yellow and told all units that after they had a run to call a 1-800 number and leave a voice mail. This is all new to me.When did this all take place and what is the reason behind this? Can anyone share there thoughts with me about this. Thanks Tim DeLong W9NES NW Indianapolis

There was a directive the other day that any runs for cardiac arrest are to be reported by calling that 800 number. I am not sure how the color of the day relates to that. It must be some kind of code.

And the "color" of the day I believe would be a reference to the Homeland Security current threat level.

I believe the "CotD" being DHS threat level reference is most likely correct. Or they are shopping at a Salvation Army store and want the half price color...

Thanks MILF and Newsalan for your input. My thought was correct when I started hearing color codes being given over the air at 8AM everyday on MCF- DSP.

the color of the day has to do with Cardiac Arrest and not DHS.

Response techniques, times, and how effective it all is. Possibly combined with IN Heart Hospital, AHA, or an possibility of an advance with the new E-Heart studies? Iether way its most likely a good thing. :)

I can confirm there is a new research protocol underway re: on scene treatment for cardiac arrest victims.
