Saint John Police and Fire are still on their 800 MHz analog system. They only recently put the funds aside in their budget for the upgrade. They haven't even received the new radios yet.

Oh ok, they are on that older Motorola 800/900 system then? I never noticed as it's in my same scanlist as my TMR2 frequencies on the new system. I guess I did that by accident.

Cool thanks for clearing that up. :)

Codiac Regional RCMP are expected to switch over to the P25 system Saturday April 1st. The rest of the province's RCMP detachments are expected to follow later in 2017.

Its possible they accidentally turned the ENC off on the radio. There is a switch for that and it happens from time to time but usually not for very long.

What type of conversation were they having? Was it a fluid 2 way conversation because that would be even more rare to have 2 radios with ENC accidentally turned off.

Also too it could have been Bell Mobility testing a radio. They do that from time to time.

Anyone else in the Bathurst Region hear people talk on group 50760 with 16218 Hits, Sounds like a work crew.. DTI (Department of Transportation & Infrastructure) ? or DNR ?
This was heard on Allardville, NB Tower.

Same for Group 50720 with 827 Hits.

For the DTI Groups, we should hear a lot more this winter as each DTI Garage will have to keep on a separate Group so they don't interfere ach other. Right now they said they didn't know which garage will be on which Crew number.

So far :
DTI Paquetville Crew is using Group 50707
DTI Bathurst Crew Group 50706

I think they use Group 50760 for the Hand Held , thats the Bathurst Crew..

Yes both those TGID's are DTI. 50700 to 50768 belong to DTI, with a few extra in the 507xx range for interop.

Here's Portable Motorola APX 4000 programming for DOT/DTI

You can choose zones then every zone has channels (Groups)

Zone:
District 1
District 2
Zone C
Zone D
District 3
District 4
Zone C
Zone D
District 5
District 6

In Zone District 1, you can change channel (Group) , here they are for District 1:

Channel & Group
1-DTI PMCC (50700)
2-D1 Super (50702) or (50701)
3-District 1A (50702) or (50701)
4-District 1B (50703)
5-District 1C (50704)
6-District 1D (50705)
7-District 1E (50706)
8-SX DTI 1 (often used portable to portable)
9-SX DTI 2 (often used portable to portable)
10-Crew 1 (50707)
11-Crew 2 (50708)
12-Crew 3 (50709)
13-Crew 4 (50710)
14-Crew 5 (50711)
15-DTI Ferry (50768)
16-MTQ

So far no channels (groups) has been associated with the garage. This will be done when plowing starts.
That's why when you listen to them they might be on a Crew 1 one day and Crew 5 another day.
Each Garage will eventually have their Crew (Group) channel not to conflict with each other.
