We hadn't heard much about this in a while, I was starting to think this was being put by the wayside. I know at least PEI and Nova Scotia are already moving ahead with plans for P25 systems, I assume NB will move eventually (if they already aren't, I don't tend to keep up on NB news).
Couple of factual errors though.. Nova Scotia's TMR system is not two decades old, it's only ~10 years - and works extremely well through the use of both mutual aid talkgroups which all public safety radios have access to, as well as special liason talkgroups for things like first responders with a fire department giving updates directly to the paramedic dispatch centre's FRCO, the first responder communications officer.
Basically if they just took what Nova Scotia has and expanded it to the other provinces, it'd be great.
