Several threads have discussed the USFH's Mark Twain National Forest’s radio system, but I haven’t seen a clear confirmation yet: Has the US Forest Service fully switched over to P25 for all operations there, or is there still any NFM analog activity left?

If you’re a radio operator or scanner enthusiast in the area, could you please help confirm this?
  • Would you mind tuning federal frequencies in P25 search mode and let us know if you discover any unknown (to Radio Reference) NAC codes?
  • Also, if you do an analog search and hear any repeaters, please share details (not just anecdotes—actual confirmed reception would be great!).
I'm really thinking that they've completely cut over to P25 and the old FM repeater information posted here in Radio Reference are out of date since I haven't heard any NFM traffic using the PL tones in several years.

Thanks!

Only way to know is spending time in search, which sadly is a lost art

Some regions the forest is still analog but the LE is P25 others vary, have you tried sitting on those old freqs in Auto/Tone Search ?

Also have you looked at the Wiki which has some P25 info with new 2025 data that does need some local Over The Air real confirmation...
