Marshall Hall Channels 1 & 2

Yes, the two new talkgroups for Charles County MD identified as DEC 848 and 880 Alpha tags CCFD MA 848, CCFD MA 880 are Marshall Hall chans 1 & 2 respectively.

Get these over to the database, if they're not already there. View the database entry for Charles county, and use the Submit tab. Follow the prompts. Thanks for reporting these new tgs Looks like tg848 needs to be fixed...

Can you describe a little more what you mean by "Marshall Hall?" Are these analog channels used for that part of the county, or something like that?

They are new interop chans that Charles County uses. They are tagged with the geographical area in which the units are active. Recently a recovery operation was conducted for a missing boater whose last know location was near Marshall Hall boat dock across the river from Gunston Cove Va. DNR, the Coast Guard and VA units participated. Dispatchers use the geographical name and channel number to "confuse" the scanning public and media. The same talk groups would have another geographical tag should another incident take place.

Correction

I am a volunteer firefighter in Charles County. We established the "Marshall" channels because certain areas of "Marshall" are under sea level. The XTS radios do not get signal there @ all. When you key up on a "Marshall" channel your radio communication goes to VA which relays for Charles County. I hope this sums up some of this. And for some of you it "Marshall" not "Marshall hall"
