I can't resist - an antenna? a scanner? <chuckle>

Did you download the data in our database? I hear 159.09 and another channel in my 396 quite frequently. I even hear it with a small active antenna on an old klunky BC895. I have found they aren't quite as active in the winter - but very much so in the late spring, summer and fall

There's a lot of old info out there. The database is much better. I understand that most all of the DNR vhf-lo band stuff has been abandoned, so you might want to concentrate on the hi band stuff instead. I've submitted a change log to the database to get that done.

They operate on 151.205 Mhz with a tone of 103.5 Hz. Should be able to receive them very well, since use a tower in the OC area. The units in this area use 100 series callsigns. Some of these units also carry Worcester Co. TRS radios and operate on the Sheriff's Department talkgroups. Every time visiting OC I see MNRP trucks driving around the inlet area looking at people fishing on the jetties, so should have traffic on the radio system. I get down to this area in both the warm and colder months of the year to visit my brother and always hear radio traffic on the above freq. Hope that helps you.

Thanks Larry, u said they operate on 151.205 with a tone of 103.5. Is that tone something i need to program in the radio before it will receive a signal.

No you don't need to program the tone, but just help cut down on interference and intermod signals. You can just program 151.205 Mhz into the scanner and it will just fine.
