Correct..So upon hearing the news that the Cecilton ASR site was "advertising" on the Cecil Simulcast site, I rearranged my schedule / route so I could be in the area enroute to Smyrna today. As Mark has been alluding to, the Cecilton ASR site is not actually on-the-air / transmitting a control channel. The site is also reported as a neighbor site on the Kent Simulcast site - but not on the QAC Simulcast site, contrary to what I expected. A similar situation occurs with the PG Simulcast site: is not actually transmitting, but is "advertised" on the AA Simulcast site and Traceys Landing ASR as a neighbor. BTW, the math conversion of channel number 01-1544 confirms that 771.65625 is the cch for Cecilton, and 03-013 is the site number according to Unitrunker.
Dorchester MD FIRST
Submitted some initial talkgroups for Dorchester tonight. APX 6000 portable radios have been distributed to fire departments for interoperability with adjoining MD FIRST counties and Sussex and Wicomico counties. The new Wicomico system is not programmed in our radios yet but I assume will be later in the year before we go live.
Dorchester is switching to MD FIRST today starting at 0830.
Seems that Dorchester Fire is switching over at this time.
Communications Center is contacting stations to determine if the "switchover" is complete.
Talbot site is coming in slightly at my home. Hearing some of the traffic of Dorchester on it.How can you tell? Are you down on the shore, or listening to a feed?
Curious. I would've figured first responders in neighboring jurisdictions would have been given a heads up by our own dispatch center. A few weeks back Talbot radios were programmed with Dorchester tgids but there was no known cutover date. I'll be interested to see what I hear on the airwaves today.
No I dont allow my picture to be taken! Were you one of the two guys in the picture of the Allegany OEM press release ?
Dispatcher308, I am an Allegany County resident. Thank you for your and your co-workers efforts. It was outstanding the small amount of time to get back in operation. Again thank you!
Then I hope you get comp time for the travel time
Do they have live spares at the sites, or at least spares nearby? I assume the MW gear belongs to MIEMSS.
Perhaps there are crosslinks established to assist in the transition? Have they completed renovations to the backup EOC? I thought the plan was to renovate the backup EOC to support the new system, and move operations there to inaugurate the new system while the main EOC is being renovated. I'd be interested to see what happens today.

Just confirmed 7521 as DNR, not sure if it is in AlleganyI think 7521 is NRP Area 8. Anyone in Allegany or Garrett hearing any radio traffic on it?
I've been listening this afternoon from Talbot and mainly have been hearing EMS traffic on 12421 and some dispatch traffic on 12401 along with encrypted units on 12431 and 12441.
My understanding is that transition is not yet complete so I assume the old radios are in parallel operation at this time. Talbot companies will be notified when Dorchester is finished cutting over.
Certainly looks like local LEOs will be encrypted. God knows it's needed in that hot bed of crime known as Dorchester County. Meanwhile, neighbors to the north, south and east are in the clear.Based on testing last year, the following talkgroups should be at least partial or fully encrypted ---
12431, 12432, 12434, 12441, 12442, 12443, 12444, 12445, 12452, 12453, 12454, 12455, 12456, 12457, 12458,
