I’m curious on what traffic we here in Southern Maryland will hear, I’m very excited to be able to hear MSP in St. Mary’s again as they are currently encrypted operating under the current St. Mary’s system. it is to my understanding that all fire, MSP, and DNR will be in tbe clear. So what will it mean for Calvert site paring with the PG site ? All of PG being heard in Southern Maryland ? Eastern Shore heard on Southern Maryland ? My G5 can pick up the Dorchester site in Colton’s Point in St. Marys. That was a big surprise!
NRP tgs tend to be pretty wide area; not sure if that is by design, or that the DNR HQ and comms center lies within the AACo cell. I think I've logged them all from AACo. I would expect that multiple barracks will be heard on the SoMD cells, certainly Forestville and College Park in Charles and Calvert counties (and AACo and Montgomery.). You *might* even hear Eastern Shore barracks, and Areas 1 and 2, Dorchester, etc.

I’m hearing more and more as days go by that DNR (Area 4) is using First and not their VHF system. Yes it’s sill patched in but you can really tell the difference between using a trunked system verses a standard VHF system. Prime example, just listen to Area 3 on their VHF frequencies. I pick up the Eagle Harbor VHF site fine here. How are they doing it ? I haven’t had a clue as I haven’t seen any REAL activity on any of the Southern sites.

Side note, I hope they keep the VHF frequencies up and running. All of Area 3 units seems to be operating on First and it hasn’t been turned off so I guess that’s a good sign for now.
NRP definitely has tgs on Prince Georges County's system; I would expect they also have tgs on the Charles and Calvert County systems, and St. Mary's Harris system. Their APX subscribers are multi band and can do SmartZone, P25, and VHF. You need to watch if any weird tgs pop up on Charles or St. Marys when you hear them on VHF.

NRP will most likely abandon their VHF system once they are fully on FiRST. NRP Area 1 & Area 2 VHF haven't been used in MANY years. I believe Area 6 isn't patched to VHF anymore. Areas 3 & 5 are still patched as they are not fully active in all of their area counties yet.

The VHF crosslinks take up valuable hardware resources, so it makes sense that they are decommissioned when the 700 system is completed and validated in the coverage area.

Having traffic on 12661 today. 2 RIDs, 2200071 and 2200072. Sounds like it could be one of the Garrett County Board of Education talkgroups. It's mainly "Dennett Road radio check." I can only assume it's the maintenance, facilities & operations office on Dennett Road, since Dennett Road school closed in 2013. At one point, the one user was in the basement of Rt.40 elementary and was loud and clear.

I wonder if they have installed BDAs in some of their facilities?

The Montgomery simulcast cell coverage along the Beltway between 270 and Georgia Ave is pretty weak. The decode really falls apart adjacent to Beach Drive. Perhaps some adjustment to the Rockville subsite will be necessary. Further east on the Beltway, the Prince Georges simulcast cell begins good coverage around Rt 29, either from the Carole Highlands or College Park subsites.

I am running unitrunker right now and I am picking up the PG Simulcast with no trouble over here in Aspen Hill just outside of the Leisure World South Gate. I am showing quite a few Radio's TG that are being denied on the PG tower

Techs must be testing the new tower here in Montgomery 05-01 as I am running unitrunker and it allowed target id 2113821 to
continue 3 times now but yet it also denied 2129306 just now. time is 1150 now its 1151 and it denied 2137590

2113821 is continued on 772.61875,772.83125,772.24375 and it is showing 773.73125 as the control and 774.41875 as a backup

I am now seeing about 10 radios id's being granted admission and a new Talk Group as well 8311 which is one past 8310 which is the MD Aviat Tac Garr in the system wide interops and now I am seeing control channels from 03-16 and 03-17 as well. 03-16 and 03-17 do not show up under peers but I do see the CC being listed. for 03-16 its 772.61875 772.24375,772.61875 and for 03-17 772.83125..

Very odd, as 03-16 and 03-17 are not valid / current Zone 3 (Eastern Shore) sites, and are using traffic channels for the Montgomery simulcast cell. Can you post a screenshot of how the data is displayed in Unitrunker?

The label for both those sights are blank like it is right now for the new montgomery tower. I am running it right now and site 005-001 is now granting radio ID 2119861 permission and its coming up as TG 7292 and target is SHA D7. Now the montgomery tower is now showing 12 channels with 2 of them being control and site 3-16 and 3-17 is now gone from the peers listing as well. I just checkd and SHA District 7 is Howard,Carrol and Fredrick counties. Now why would a District 7 radio be on the montgomery tower.. i just checked the TG for state hwy and TG 7292 is State Hwy D7 is all it says hmm update now their have been 10 radio id's being granted permission under District 7 TG

Just checked the Annapolis Simulcast tower and under peers it is listing the tower as 005-001 but the label is still blank. I just switched over to the Howard tower from Ann Arundle tower it is showing under peers site 001-30 blank and the montgomery tower as blank as well.

Labels are user defined or downloaded from the RRDB. If you have not created the label yourself or downloaded data after a new site has been added to the RRDB, labels in Unitrunker will be blank.
Labels are user defined or downloaded from RRDB. They do not original from control channel data.
