Apparently there is an acid spill in an ER in Mason Co. The ER is shut down at this time and they are trying to stabilize the patient so they can transport him to another facility.

what happened was the ems was called to a location to pick up a patient for a chem burn. the squad pulled on scene and a guy jumped right in the paramedics face and got acid (forget what kind) all over the medics arm and the patient was burned bad in the face and airway. so the medic transported to pleasant valley hospital in point pleasant mason county. the er said the didnt need to decon just use some soap and water to wash off. well then after patient in the er they thought maybe we should decon and the whole er and staff and all the people there had to wait in the parking lot and then they decided to let them all back in it would be ok, it was a big mess on the scanner all day for them. thats what happens when the hospital has a crappy a** haz mat plan.
