• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I have no more options to try to get this thing to pass audio. I've turned every pot up,down, mid way and I cannot get any audio to come out of the transmitter, Carrier only. If I enable the cw ID I can hear that just fine. It has a microphone connected to the front and when I key that and talk it sounds like I'm 50ft away when in fact I'm 2 inches from it. I've followed the directions on repeater-builder and set everything to their specs. I want to add an external controller but I need to at least hear myself ok from the actual microphone on the repeater itself. The tx module has no fault light, and i have tried 2 different microphones. Does anyone have any idea on what I'm missing?

It could actually be broken and a schematic diagram and an oscilloscope will tell you the answer.

Thats always a possibility. I brought in another mastr iii and plugged in the tx synthasizer and system module that was in the other machine with the same results.. I only have 1 tx synthasizer that has dip switches and for some reason the other system module causes the tx systhasizer to throw a fault light, even with the same code plug put in it. not sure whats goin on there.

In the software it gives me the option between 12.5 and 25...... I was able to salvage another system module. I installed it and had success with no fault light and i have crisp and clear audio when i talk through the mic on the repeater itself. I do not have the equipment as of right now to adjust and tune the receiver properly so im trying to use a kenwood tk-790 in its place temporary. The sensitivity between the 2 are similar and will work for what im doing. However I cant get audio to pass to the transmitter. I have the controller connected to P2 pin 8 for tx audio (mic high) and p2 pin 14 for ptt. It just will not pass audio.......
