Been monitoring most of the day. Then made some changes to the 246 using the ARC software.
Can't remember hearing any activity on 1008 Matthews/Mint Hill Dispatch.
Just slow, or did I screw something up?
Anyone hear anything on this TG today or tonight?
Thanks

I'll listen and see if I hear anything tonight. I'm at work, so this gives me a reason to play with my scanner :D

As soon as I programmed 1008 into my pro 93, I started hearing lots of activity. This was around 12:30am.

Appreciate the help. Brought the scanner in the car this morning and put it in Search mode on the CharMeck TRS, never did see 1008 come through.
Weird, will have to download scanner tonight and see what the heck I did.
Thanks

If you don't mind, can yopu post the finished file in my stickied thread? I'd like to try the file in the companies 246T to test it further.

I'm at work but will do tonight. Really didn't do much when I changed the file. Eliminated a Priority system which duplicated some frequencies. Took a couple of groups from the deleted system and added to the sytem that has Matthews and Mint Hill TG's. I live right near there and they are usually pretty busy.
Checked the ARC246 files and they look fine. Everything else on CharMeck seems to be receiving.

Mint Hill and Matthews update for all of us: On my PRO-95 they are still showing as 1008 as of right now, Noon on Monday. However on my BC-895 they are showing up as 1011. That would inply that that TG is linked with some other TG. Both the 300's (Matthews) and the 1500's (Mint Hill) are showing up on the 1011/1008 TG. If you have an older scanner make sure you also input the other TG, 1011.

Thinking about this. Isn't this an issue where by changing the status bit to off or on (I never paid attention) should fix this problem?
I'm using the BC246.

Changed status bit to ignore

Changed the status bit to ignore on the system I have with Matthews on it, and bam...I was receiving. Never have had to play with the status bit feature on the 246 before. Know I'm wondering what else I'm missing by having my other systems with the status bit set to "yes".
FYI, I uploaded my ARC files to the sticky.

the strange silence some have experienced and the change in TG ID is b/c the dispatch center has patched Matt PD Disp (1008) and Mint Hill Patrol 1 (33616) together.

i spoke with a telecommunicator at Matt PD last night and confirmed this. i noticed the change in a different way, in that i had MHPD talkgroups in my scanner at home but not the Matt TG's. i started hearing an abundance of radio traffic on 33616, including Matt PD officers. their dispatch center said if one town or the other gets busy and staffing allows, they can unpatch the two TG's and lessen traffic for one dept without a lot of officers having to switch channels.

hope this helps.

Interesting. Do you folks have an opinion on whether to have your scanner ignore the status bit on a system?
Have never changed the default option until this occurred. Obviously, I never would have noticed the change if I had the status bit option to "ignore" at the start. Any reason not to?
Over the last few days, I have also noticed Matthews dispatch asking units to change there unit numbers. I had always been under the assumption that the unit numbers stuck to the officer. Are these unit numbers (ie. 321) based on area patrolled?
Thanks for the update
