The PCTEL 7603 is also what I use on my car...if it's good enough for ISP, it's good enough for me. I have mine connected to my GRE PSR600 and does a nice job on the VHF systems as well.

I agree it does awsome on VHF. And on 800MHz

The antenna that I have now the UHF works great with that mag mount. I used use the rubber duck commerical antennas. Before that I used to use the Radioshack antennas. Now I dont even use Radioshack antennas anymore. I gave one away.

If it works great on a Mag Mount it will be Way Awesome on a real NMO mount drilled into the car.

I dont want anything on the car so it is awesome to me. Better than what I used before.

I know I will be ordering one. Its the same philosophy as the guy has, if it has proven results then go with that. I see them on ccsd unmarked squad cars and it seems to work well for them. I also see black hockey puck antennas, low profile not the circle raydom styles either.
