Anyone know todays working 800, VHF, FD and PD channels for the fires today?

The Bernardo Fire was on 1E command, CDF Tac 22, and SDPD N/E patched with LE N Tac 2.

I will be out covering the fires tonight, and need to make sure my radios are programmed correctly. The Bernardo Fire was 90% VHF, so those working channels are most important to me at the moment. Thanks!

Finding these VERY busy:

1) XSD North Command - 153.890MHz.

2) Cleveland National Forest Air Attack Primary- 164.500MHz.

3) Cleveland National Forest Forest Net - 168.750MHz and linked on UHF at 406.525MHz (sometimes the UHF link is better quality - is where I am).

4) CDF A/G- 151.220MHz.

5) CDF Command 3 - 151.340MHz and Command 1 - 151.355MHz.

6) CDF Monte Vista Local - 151.190MHz.

7) Some other simplex freq.'s that I heard mentioned but can't hear well where I am:
a) 151.460MHz (CDF Tac 12)
b) 155.085MHz (XSD Tac 1)
c) 154.430MHz (XSD Tac 2)
d) 151.1375MHz (VTAC 11)
e) 154.265MHz (VFIRE 22)
f) 168.6375 (USFS air tac)

Might want to check out Riverside County stuff as well as they were mentioned concerning the fires in the north; check this site out for Riverside county info: ScanRiverside.com.

By far, outside of the RCS, the busiest conventional frequencies up here in north Carlsbad are 153.890MHz, 164.500MHz, 151.340MHz, and 151.355Mz.

Also, check out the El Camino Real shopping center security on 464.475MHz as that is now an evacuation center.

More I am now hearing: 122.925MHz Air Victor Net 4 (old info - not sure if that is what it is called now but it is very active) and 151.295MHz (scratchy) VFIRE 23.

Thanks Mike! I have a Motorola MTS2000 I bought a while ago for brush fires, but it has a limited set of Command repeaters for mostly east county. It was never fully programmed for brush fires "in the city" so to speak, and this info will help me very much. I've never been close enough to need fire simplex channels.

I find the RX PL tones helpful, but added a PL disable switch to my radio. Found so far that the listed RR PL for XSD North Command 103.5 is incorrect. I also have no RX tone for Cleveland, and it is getting a birdie.

Cleveland Forest Net 168.750 PL 103.5, Admin Net 168.150 PL 103.5

XSD North Command PL of 103.5 is correct, but also lots of traffic with no PL. I have mine set to search and see either 103.5 or no PL.

I live in South Bay so I don't get all of the traffic, but I have NEVER heard so much traffic on so many channels as there was on Wednesday. It seemed like if a channel was available, it was being used.

Yesterday I heard the Dispatcher say on Monte Vista Local that the moto 800's were "intermittent"

Does anyone know any freq's for the san marcos fire? last night I think command was cle nf but they might have changed it.

What a Difference a Day Makes

168.750 (Cleveland NF dispatch) remains the command freq. for the San Marcos fire. What is remarkable is how much quieter the conventional CDF VHF (151 Mhz) freqs. are today. SDR# with an RTL2832 dongle was the go to radio yesterday - the ability to see strong local signals on the waterfall display was very useful.

ssmith39: it is possible they set up a portable repeater, I heard them do that yesterday, I think it was on Calfire Cmd 1, did you notice if the Pl is the same?

SD City units @ the Bernardo fire are also using "Training" channels like 8K, for their mop up and hose pickup activities.

168.75 Command was the primary this morning when I was on scene. Tac 5 (161.1125?) was also very active. XSD North Command had some coordination activity on simplex in the area, but nothing critical as of when I left at 11AM.

LE was working on San Marcos primary patched to LE N Tac 3. LE N Tac 2 had some sort of secondary LE coordination traffic, but nothing major. Fire Air was active, and Fire CC as well was being used frequently.

Thanks for the update inigo88. If you can note any changes for this evening, I need to make sure I get my radios programmed properly for my partner who is covering the flames during the daytime. We've got crews driving up and down the involved fire roads, and we need to make sure at least ONE of them can monitor critical updates to keep the rest of us safe and out of the way.

Just a short rough and ready list I made over the last couple of days - am attaching the text file. Not all were heard on both days. Sorry did not note CTCSS tones in most cases.

A couple of quick updates:

1) 170.000MHz - Old USFS A/G - supposed to have ceased to have been used according to my old records but obviously still used; wasn't heard by me yesterday or the day before but heavily used now).

2) 153.815MHz - Fallbrook Brown Repeater

3) 159.270MHz - CDF Tac 15

4) 168.350MHz - Federal Common

5) 168.075MHz - NIFC/USFS Command 3

Anybody else hear 151.310? I think its the new command for the san marcos fire, but I couldn't find it in any database.

151.310MHz is CDF Air Tac 6 according to my records. It is listed in the RR database in the CDF section under "Statewide Air Plan".
