Having lived here a short time, I don't pretend to understand, yet, how all of this works. I'm under the impression that R-M dispatches for many of the Yavapai County rural FD's, using numerous remote repeaters. That being said, I've been listening to MFD for the past year on numerous frequencies, but mostly 150.805 and 154.13.
Today, while listening to MFD on at least three different frequencies, I realized that I haven't heard anything on 150.805 for at least the past couple of weeks, if not longer. Is this frequency down, or not being used for some reason?

So you're from California? Good for you. Mayer is a good choice indeed. Looks like you did your homework. I live in Tempe, AZ. I'd join you but for my Ball & Chain.:)

Many of the smaller Fire Districts in Yavapai County have signed MOUs to have other agencies dispatch for them. There is one agency in SoCo that uses Rural Metro, but they are close to Maricopa County.

Stop by or call Mayer FD to find out what frequencies they use:
11975 South State Route 69, Bensch Ranch (Behind Station 22)
Phone: 928-632-9534

Bring your agency patch or some swag and you'll likely find some friends.
