Hello everyone, I don't have a degree in electrical engineering or any engineering field for that matter....just a lone amateur Tech license. I thought I would pass on this job that I saw posted because I figured there might be someone out here that has a background they are looking for. Also, I noticed it mentions "two-way digital trunking system" which I am not sure is old news with the MBTA or what they are upgrading to.

P.S.....sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

300 portables for Customer Service??? IS that roughly $1200 to $1500 per radio for digital comms...if so that is ballpark $450,000 for radios. Where the heck are these folks located? Selling Charlie cards? LOL!!!

yup
There have been discussions on the ne.transportation newsgroup about the fare system on the Green Line. There seems to be some logical deficits in the operation of the system. Some of the Customer Service reps have Charlie card readers - some dont.

Apparently the T wants to give each Customer Service (station attendant) person a digital portable radio.
