To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:
Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.
If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

MC3000 deskset reboots when set to full volume

This sounds on the surface like you have a power issue in that high volume settings cause the audio output amplifier to draw more current and whereby the voltages sags enough to reset the microprocessor.
My first thought would be to verify that you have the correct power who's voltage and current ratings match the requirements of your MC3000.
It it turns out you have the correct power supply then you will want to measure the output voltage under load to see if it sags with speech under higher volume settings. Beyond that check the condition of the power cord, the plug, and condition of the mating jack on the MC3000 looking for loose or corroded connections.
If you don't find any of the above suggestions to be the cause then you'll have to open up the deskset and trouble shoot the supply regulator and filter sections looking for similar voltage drop conditions. It's also possible the audio amplifier chain draws excessive current that might also
explain the sudden reset of the processor.

Transmit works perfectly fine and doesn't cause any issues. The volume setting works perfectly fine at mid volume but since this deskset sits in an ER and is used for communication between the hospital and ambulances, it's always been set to full blast. Power supply was good. As old as the deskset is, it was going to start kicking the bucket at some point. An upgrade to a APX and MCD5000 is a little overdue.
Had a power supply go bad on one of these before and it behaved like yours. Voltage was correct, but current was flaky and would crap out when volume was turned up.
