I'm trying to figure the "proper" way to program this system into my Pro-106 and Pro-652. Has anyone else run into issues in programming this system? Are there any actual users on the Lindsborg site, or was it put in as a sort of filler for the county towers? I don't want to have to program the same talkgroups into the same bank three times to be able to track this system. I live in Hutchinson, which is theoretically on the fringe of their coverage zone... My BCT15X picks the system up 1-2 bars most nights, but I ain't catching them on my other two radios.
Their system has always been difficult to receive outside of MP county. I've never been able to hear it in Newton, even with an outside antenna. Once I get north to Hesston or west to about Halstead to Burrton or so, you start hearing it on a mobile or portable scanner.
When it was first implemented, the users themselves had to switch to whichever tower they were closest to; County (just east of McPherson), City (downtown McPherson) or Lindsborg. They had 3 of each talkgroup in their radios for each tower. Since then I understand they have changed the system to multicast, where a talkgroup is rebroadcast on all 3 towers, although not in the same way as a simulcast system. I don't know this for sure, I do know that they don't have to change "systems" any more. Most of them have newer radios that have the state system in them too, and they use it frequently.
I usually just plug in the original County system, but like I said, none of them come in very well outside their county.
