anyone care to explain this odd freq ...i've seen the ant's on the car's and there is no way the radio's they use can transmitt on a vhf high band . so far i've seen there 800 trunked and there low band but not a high band .

it's nice to hear these guy's close by ...it's just odd for them to have the freq but can't see the correct ant ...some of there car's have the lo-jack set up

also what tower is at crismon and main st in mesa ....and another next to a bar call the On The Rock in mesa

It's called search, it's used by posse and SaR members. As you've heard though it's not just used for search they chit chat on it quite a bit in simplex mode.

I'm not familiar with a tower at Crismon and Main, the one by On the Rock is a Mesa simulcast site.

The tower in ? is just west of payless car sales i'm figuring it's for mcso but who know's ...

anyway let me get this straight if mcso is using this vhf hi freq for chit-chat and sar . then how are they transmitting ? there isn't a vhf ant anyplace on the car's . far as i can tell all that's mounted is the trunked and low band . not unless they are using vhf hand held's which i bet they are ...

i don't know ..i was just wondering that's all

I'm not aware of any low band frequencies they use, my guess is the whip that you're seeing is for the VHF radio.
