• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

MD782 (not i) with RCC05 Remote Head Kit Button Issues

I recently bought a RCC05 kit for a MD782 I bought new in box about 8 months ago. Followed the install instructions etc and works pretty good overall, screen, audio, mic, etc. Some buttons have issues though. Specifically, P5, P2, and the top menu button with two dashed lines. Sometimes I get a double click or it operates the function of another button.

I've checked the ribbon cable connecting the data cable interface panel to the radio body. The radio head was preattached for the RCC05 kit and the instructions specifically say to leave it alone, so I haven't checked that ribbon cable.

Has anyone else had an issue like this? So far Hytera CS said to talk to dealer/seller. I haven't heard back from GigaParts and Atlantic radio said maybe update firmware, but other than that said they couldn't be more helpful since it's discontinued. CS mentioned the firmware was super old. Another thought was maybe some CPS settings?

Current Versions:
Firmware and DSP version: A8.05.07.004
Radio Data version: A8.05.06.004

EDIT:
Radio Model Number: MD782-00000000-000000-U1-H-L
/EDIT

Is there any real chance that firmware could be the issue? If so any guidance on updating would be great. I downloaded V9.00.07.105 batch upgrade from the HamDigitaal website (zip file name below), but I'm not positive that the NA version and think it might be the EM5 version. HamFiles has the NA version for V9.02.03.005, but I've never used HamFiles and don't have any points, so if anyone knows where to get a V9 firmware version, please give me a heads up.

Firmware file name:
DMR TerminalBatchUpgrade Subscribe TO V9.00.07.105 IM

Thanks for any help!

Update:

Decided to ignore the instructions and swap the radio heads, issue remained the same, so the problem is in the remote head mount, cable adapter on the radio body, or the radio itself.
