MDC QUESTION

A while back [few hours ago] I heard on either 7a or 7b [fire - the police moved all their channels to the new stuff] were a unit had problems with there MDC & the dispatcher said;

"Wait until you clear the call"

My qustion is why do they have to wait if it is not working to were they have to log in?

I just [a few minutes ago log in to this site [do not know if it is MDC or not] myself.

The police are operating on the 800 system but you did not hear them of the fire side. I believe the reason they have to wait until they clear the call to log off and back on is because the computer is showing them on a call and will not allow the MDC to log off until they put them selves in service from the call. Then they log off reset the MDC and log back on.
