Unless the MS Congress acts soon, Mississippi Department of Human Services will cease to exist as a government agency on July 1, 2004. This will not only affect the basic programs of Human Services, but will shut down the Youth Services Division (YSD). YSD runs the two magor youth training schools of Columbia, and Oakley. MDHS programs include insurance programs for children, the WIC program, as well as other very vital programs. The DHS issue was lost in the recent Medicaide/Medicare issues that wpould leave many citizens without vital healthcare.....Something tells me that the in the next day or so, those infamous two words "Special Session" are about to be uttered by Gov. Haley Barbour.
