Everyone is using different radio system to the Fair, Traffic Booths, Security and EMS
plus the State Police -

For a Saturday night, it was dead. anyone else in the area try to pick off the tones.

Unless they are using DMR with RAS, you wouldn’t need a key(scanners don’t need a key). RAS or not. The key only applies to radios.

If they have RAS enabled, the scanner will still work, just not 100% perfect.

And you wouldn’t be able to hear RAS on a Motorola radio(XPR7550) for example, without the proper RAS key.

RAS on a XPR, unfortunately, will not let you even listen to the system(besides obviously not allowing transmitting).

James E. Strates shows normally uses that frequency for the amusements, and they are the vendor, so probably them.

Security for Meadowlands State Fair

Security for Meadowlands State Fair is being handled by the Metlife Stadium on Security 1 of the Mototrbo system at the stadium.
EMS is being handled by the NJSEA on the mototrbo system.

K9one has it correct, Security is using the Metlife system and EMS the DMR system.

Ok I’m sorry for the key confusion. Now just to be clear if I understand this I would need to purchase a product key from Uniden to be able to monitor that Meadowlands Mototrbo system? If so I might just have to do this.

As long as the DMR is NOT encrypted, you should be fine.

Go through the Uniden Forum Tech Support for any Firmware upgrades you might need for your scanner. LINK

NJSEA DMR is not encrypted so at least with that system, you are good to go.
