Mechanicsburg FD/ PD is seeking $20,000 for MARCS IP 700 MHz radios as seen on the local news last night so they can communicate with the Champaign County SO and others. So in the near future new TG's will pop up if they can secure it.

It also doesn't mean they are going to MARCS, just that they going to try to get grant money to make it possible.

The sad fact is that without grant money for this purpose, most small departments around the state are out of luck.

They know it all too well. Those monthly fees are a major reason why more departments don't use MARCS; if it were free (or even half the price) you would very likely see far more agencies using MARCS than you do now.
