Meck Co Pager Tones BCD396T

I'm not having any luck the tone-out feature on my 396. I've read all threads regarding the meck co. tones and I think I have them entered properly but I'm not having any luck. Example: I live in cornelius so I'd like to keep up w/ the local FD and EMS operations. For Cornelius FD, I entered 1251.4 for tone A and 1217.8 for tone B, naturally the freq is 156.165. for cornelius EMS (462.950) I entered 600.9 tone A and 688.3 tone B. does this jive with what works for other people?

The tones and frequencies jive.
Did you then out the scanner in tone-out standby mode?
You can't scan and use the FTO at the same time.

I'm sure I've done everything correctly. Yes, I did go into tone-out standby mode and just left it there for hours. Maybe the guys just haven't gotten called out during the times I've been in standby mode. As long as the tones are correct, I think I'm in good shape.
