I'm wondering where a couple of med copters are based out of, ever since I put up mine new antenna the other day I can hear them clear as day. The one I was hearing just a little bit ago was memorial star and the other was something like sierra gulf 1, not quite sure on that but it was coming through on the med chs. I'm just amazed that I can hear these clearer than the area based heli's, like AL 72 and Medevac 1 and 2.

Memorial Star is out of Memorial Hospital in the Springs.

74 might be the Frederick ship, they seem to switch it around.

Was going to ask that myself, I have been hear of a L/G 74. Medevac 1 and 2 out of Greeley and Erie, I hear those guys all the time buzz my house 1-3 times a week, wave and say I knew you were going to be there, LOL. So would memorial star be the same thing as L/G 3 FFL out of the springs.

Just heard a L/G 5 come over the radio headed to Durango, any idea on this one.

I just noticed the part of the post related to my sierra gulf question, I'm now starting to think its something to do with the L/G 74. Its nice to know where they all are based at though.

Just A Little Revision

Good list Jim! Just made a few changes:

L/G 1 FFL Denver
L/G 2 FFL Frisco
L/G 3 FFL Colorado Springs
L/G 4 FFL Pueblo

L/G 72 Airlife Denver (Frederick/Firestone)
L/G 73 Airlife Denver (Skyridge Medical Center)
L/G 74 Airlife Denver (Aurora North)
(73 and 74 are often interchangeable - but 72 is almost always the Firestone ship)

Medvac 1 NCMC Greeley
Medvac 2 Erie Airpark

Memorial Star Colorado Springs

AirLink 1 - Scottsbluff, NE - frequently in Denver

Careflight Grand Junction
Tristate Careflight Durango (Not affiliated with Grand Junction Program)

Very cool list we have going.

Sounds like Medevac 2 and AL73 are in Louisville this morning for a PR event, or at least Med2 is sounded like 73 was headed that way.

Looks like Airlife 72 has a new pad out front of Fredrick/Firestone Station 2. It can be kinda interesting when they go into land as it looks like they're gonna land on the Hwy, at which point you start seeing brake lights. But they are now visible, very visible from the HWY, and at times seams to be on display. :)

In case anyone has a visual on LG4, right now they are flying the air methods backup ship which is mostly blue and white, with a huge star of life on the side. The primary orange bird is still in for refurbishment.
