On another thread we already had the Pharr EMS Angel Care closing, now today Air Methods is closing their Kerrville base, AirLife 3. My neighbor is a pilot that has been stationed there and said they are closing 18 bases this year. Keep an eye out around the state for more closures.

Thanks to an act passing that deals with how air transport companies get paid and amount getting paid through insurance it put a large strain on flights. The Pleasanton Airlife base also was shut down yesterday. All of the aircraft agencies are dealing with it. Some better than others. This tied in with flight requests being lower than normal really doesn't help. Kerrville and Pleasanton aircraft will be moved to the New Braunfels base for now. AirEvac layed off a bunch of personnel as well. Shall see what happens closer to the end of year but doesn't look good.

Even with airevac staying there chances you'll have to ground vs air will be alot higher. Especially with some agencies in that area that like to fly just about everyone

Considering both of the birds in Kerrville ran VFR there are plenty of days where there is no bad weather in the area but they can’t fly.

Is there any sort of map/list of all of the medevac bases across the entire state? I'm wondering which ones I should be listening to not only here in Bandera (Lakehills) but also down in Westlaco on the border

Found it! Medevac (Texas) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

of course the best way to find an answer is to post it b/c then you'll immediately figure it out
