Any further info on this incident? What service was the Helo from? What was the tail number?

Actually, it was much worse than that. The aircraft arrived at the scene, the medical crew discovered a problem with the aircraft, and they transported the patient via ground ambulance. The pilot remained with the aircraft, the mechanic went to the scene and serviced the aircraft. The pilot then departed in the aircraft to return to their base, but never arrived. The wreckage was found this morning. The pilot did not survive the accident. The aircraft was destroyed.

No other information on the aircraft, but I understand is was an AS-350 A-Star.

Just caught the replay on the news.. yep OkRob is correct...

I would have to check the Helicopters.com site to find original ownership and tail #'s.....

That now puts down to the AirCare unit with UMC, Rescue 7 with SEMAAD, and I can't remeber the other one... but hopefully North MS Air Ambulance will get another one. If I remember correctly they service most of Northeastern MS, and did a lot of flights to Tupelo.

Historically this makes two med helo crashes in MS. The first was AirCare 1 back in the late 80's-Helo vs powerlines.

At one point the Central MS EMS District was going to get 2 Huey conversions from the Arkansas National Gaurd,.. but if I remember right, money fell short so that fell through.
