NorthSTAR and SouthSTAR are dispatched on their talkgroups on the NJSP TRS.

MONOC 1 is dispatched on Channel 9/10/11.

not to be a ball buster, but a little bit of using the search function could have gotten you all this information.

FYI you can hear medevac 5 and Southstar on South Jersey Net 154.26500. That's the frequency used for LZ (Landing Zone) Communication between the helicopters and fire departments.

Either Saturday or yesterday (don't remember exactly) I heard MONOC 1 talking to REMCS on the NorthStar TG. It was at an incident from which both NorthStar and MONOC 1 flew.

If I remember correctly, I believe it was said that effective Jan 1st, 2007, SouthStar will transition under REMCS. I haven't heard any dates for the other ships....

At 2100 last night (10/13/2006) REMSC took over dispatch for all medivacs in NJ. (I heard them announce this on the MICU network talkgroup.)

Anyone notice new talkgroups for the other ships yet?

Medevac Dispatch Information

Hello All...

I received this email today wanted to share it with the group.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Good evening to everyone.

I would like to share some information with all of you that will
affect the way operations are being conducted in air medical
resources in New Jersey. This year, the Office of Emergency Medical
Services placed in the JEMSTAR grant a requirement for one air
medial dispatch center in New Jersey. This would centralize
dispatch all JEMSTAR assets and would be coordinated through one
center communication center. As of 9 p.m. this evening, we received
confirmation from AT&T that the 800 numbers for accessing air
medical resources in New Jersey have been connected to REMCS in
Newark. With this consolidation of dispatch resources, there are no
major changes to the Medevac operations.

All agencies/PSAPs and flight requests should continue to use the
same contact numbers for each respective region in the north and
south. REMCS has officially taken the responsibility for all air
medical resources today.

The phone numbers for air medical resources are:
North Jersey 800-332-4356
South Jersey 800-544-4356

I would like to provide you with telephone numbers in case there are
any issues within the first few days of this consolidation period.

If there are dispatch center business questions please contact the
Shai Jaskoll, the REMCS Coordinator at 973-972-5905 or Joseph
Burlew, the REMCS Supervisor at 973-972-6366. They may assist you
in the operational aspect of dispatch, flight tracking, flight
notification or other operational issues involving dispatch.

Business contact numbers for SouthSTAR and operational issues for
SouthSTAR should be directed to Linda Whitworth, Chief Flight Nurse
at 856-325-4889. Secondary for SouthSTAR is Scott Kasper, Corporate
Director of Virtua Health EMS at 856-581-7520.

Business contact numbers for NorthSTAR and operational issues for
NorthSTAR should be directed to Dan Smith, Chief Flight Nurse at 973-
972-7779. Secondary for NorthSTAR is Terry Hoben, Air Medical
Coordinator at 973-972-7778.

If either the NorthSTAR or the SouthSTAR leadership is needed to be
contacted in an emergency, you may call REMCS at 973-972-6290 and
ask for the Air Medical Communications Specialist to contact the
individual that you need to speak with. Emergency contact with
these individuals will be facilitated through the REMCS dispatch
center during non-office hours.

Furthermore, if you need to speak with someone from the Office of
Emergency Medical Services, you may call 609-633-7777 during
business hours and ask to speak with Don Roberts or myself. My
additional contact information is listed below.

There are several changes being made in the Office of Emergency
Medical Services as it is related to air medical services. With the
departure of Jim Baca, Don Roberts will be taking over the day-to-
day activity under my supervision in Operations. Either Don or
myself will be able to assist you by contacting us in OEMS.

I would like to thank Thomas Butts and his staff at Gloucester
County Communications for the years of dedication to SouthSTAR,
OEMS, the JEMSTAR Program and the air medical programs in New
Jersey. Their professionalism in communications has been
exceptional. Thank you again.

Please, again, if there are any issues, please feel free to contact
any of the above.
