There are a number of articles in today"s Asbury Park Press about the dispatching of state owned MedEvac helicopters vs those that are privately owned. Although this has nothing to do directly with scanning, I thought it might be of interest to some of you involved in the hobby.

To the Administrator/Moderators: The reason I posted it here, rather than on the Tavern forum is because it deals specifically with New Jersey MedEvacs, and probably wouldn't be of interest to those who live in other states.

The Morris Daily Record also has a series of articles in today's paper.

It's about time. This needs to be addressed. The closest ship should get the job, private or public. The victim does not care.

As for the claims by the NJSP that the private ships are not safe, that's a smokescreen. They meet all the requirements, including some that the NJSP ship does not.

Hopefully, this will bring results.

Gannett Newspapers continue to post verbatim quotes of public safety radio transmissions, specifically SouthStar & North Star.

To divulge the contents of a monitored communication, especially to divulge publicly in a chain of newspapers, isn't this a violation of the Radio Act of 1937 AND the ECPA of 1984?

I don't want to sound like I'm nit-picking, but this is just further fuel for the encryption crowd.
