Occasionally, you can hear them on 155.40 also.

Not that often. Since Lifecare EMS is located in Mansfield, they'd have better luck monitoring them on AEP

I believe they can use MARCS for inter-system comms, but aren't regularly using it. They will stay on AEP for routine ops.

Thanks for everyones input on this matter. I'm currently working on programing a radio, for 1 of our 1st responder vehicles, so they can monitor MedFlight of Ohio... This is going to be fun trying to program this in. That is interesting that Mansfield can't pickup well on the AED system. Well I see how well it works up here in Lorain County.

Air Care? They're not on MARCS, yet.

Within the next few years, all air EMS providers in Ohio should be on MARCS either for day to day ops or for interoperability.

123.025 Aircraft Air to Air (both fixed wing and helicopters)
855.9125 AEP System
857.2875 AEP System
857.8875 AEP System
858.3375 AEP System
859.3125 AEP System



Also, I was in Columbus a couple of weeks ago and heard them on their talkgroup they have on the Frankiln County Communications System.

I live a few block from the Medflight 3 base here in Wellston and I go over all the time to talk with the crew. They are a great bunch of people. They let me go over and take photos of their choppers anytime I want. I have pictures of every chopper they have had at the base.

For being up in the Northern Part of Ohio, Lorain County what freq. would I program in from the AED network, to pickup MedFlight?

Nope. The closest MedFlight of Ohio Helo to Cleveland is in Lodi. However, MedFlight 5 frequently transports people to University Hospitals - Cleveland, Cleveland Clinic, and other facilities in the area. They often contact STATCOM (155.265 PL 103.5) to call their base in Columbus to advise of status, etc...
