Does anyone have the equivalent freqs for medflight's radios? I know they piggy back on AEP edacs system but the dispatcher will say "use channel ## to communicate with EMS in <plug in your county here>".

thanks, joe

I'm not sure what your asking?

Each B-G-M has a programmable radio they can use. So they can talk to a on scene unit. Since no public service agency I know has a AEP radio.

There are some frequencies that Metro Life Flight has pre-programmed in to their radios. They are listed in the DB under the Medical Helicopter/MICU page under State of Ohio

As I understand it, their radios ARE pre-programmed. The MedFlight dispatcher has a chart that matches the programming for the helicopter. Generally, MF3 covers our area. When they're heading here, they switch to our EMS/Fire freq (155.295) and talk directly to our ground personnel. Instead of having to program that freq "on the fly" they simply switch to whatever channel number in their radio that corrosponds to Gallia 911....Steve/Gallia

Hey all,

Yes, Medflight's newer radios are pre-programmed which save time in communicating with ground units. Medcom dispatcher will give the channel number to the helicopter and they put that channel on their radios which should put them in contact with who ever they need to comunicate with.

At least that's what the radios in Medflight # 3's (Wellston based helicopter) new Eurocopter EC 135 helicopter is set up. I'll see if I can get a channel listing the next time I'm over there.

Have a good one
