i KNOW THAT MEDFLIGHT USES THEIR EDACS TRUNKED SYSTEM FOR MOST OPERATIONS, BUT I KNOW THAT THEY ALSO USE 155.4 QUITE OFTEN. I THOUGHT THAT THIS CHANNEL WAS NO LONGER IN USE.

THEY USE THEIR EDACS SYSTEM FOR NORMAL OPS, BUT DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT 155.4 IS USED FOR? JUST CURIOUS.....

I wish I could help...In the Cleveland area, I haven't heard them on that freq. I think they use AEP's EDACS or something, but AEP doesn't go all the way to Cleveland. I've been hearing MedFlight traffic on MARCS TG 208 from the Cleveland area...

155.400 is also used by CECOMS in Cuyahoga County for Weather Alerts, the same as any other freq they use...

WX (Weather) Alerts?

I have also heard WX Alerts on some of the local P.D. & Turpike Frequencies.

Many County Fireground LZ's do not have trunking systems, thus VHF and UHF are also used.

They broadcast weather alerts an several freqs at once...I don't monitor that one, but they do tie them all together, VHF and UHF, and will probably get some digital equipment for MARCS as well...

So can we safely say that C.E.COMS will also broadcast the WX alerts on the Digital 800 TRS?

I don't know about "safely," but I'd say it's a good bet...

I'm actually surprised that the National Weather Service doesn't on their respective talkgroups...
