Qualcomm has lighted up their Media FLO service in the San Francisco area after
the analog TV shutdown. They are using channel 55 which is 716 - 722 MHz.
The signal looks almost like a ATSC DTV except the pilot carrier is missing. Very strong
here in San Jose, CA. So I tried the FCC database but not sure where to start.
Any ideas on how to search the FCC database for old TV channel 55 with new license'?

Media FLO locations

Well I found out the FCC callsign but can not get the exact location(s) of the
Qualcomm transmitters. The overall license is WPWU989 and the San Jose, CA
license is WPXD983. Usually you can enter a callsign and get a list of transmitter
lat / long coordinates. I'll keep trying, damn FCC search driving me crazy (even more)!

You will not find exact transmitter locations in the FCC database for Media FLO. Their licenses are issued for an entire market area, not for a specific location. Media FLO can locate their transmitters anywhere they want within their licensed market (with some limitations to protect adjacent market areas) without notifying the FCC of their exact location.

The WPXD983 license is for market area (aka CMA) # 27. To see a map of all the CMA market areas visit this link:

The WPWU989 license is for a much larger market area known as EAG's, to see a map of the EAG's visit:

Thanks for the information. I came to the same conclusion you explained.
After the analog TV shutdown, I hooked up my spectrum analyzer to antenna
and had discovered a very strong signal where TV channel 55 was located.
I have examined much information on the Qualcomm buildout plans on net.
They are running 50 KW with 25 KW vertical and 25 KW horiziontal, and the
transmitter is probably less than 10 miles away at 1000 to 4000 feet elevation.
So far no new intermod detected, was concerned about the new 760 - 808 MHz
public safety band.
