This may be a repeated thread, but I was wondering if anyone knows frequencies for the local media/news agencies in Denver. I've got some frequencies around 451 MHz but I hardly hear anything. If I do it is usually very sporadic. I used to hear the news helicopters talking to the studio about when they had a good shot, but I never do any more. Would they be using cell phones? Microwave?

Still some pretty good traffic during breaking news and during drive time but agree more and more comms are moving to alpha pager and cell phones.

Would you know what kind of traffic "Clear Channel" might have on it?

Clear Channel Communications owns 1200 radio stations nationwide including KBCO-FM, KBPI-FM, KTCL-FM, KHOW-AM, KKZN-AM, KMGG-FM, KOA-AM & KRFX-FM locally.

You'll hear some pretty interesting chat on the 160 freqs. when a station does an onsite broadcast at a nightclub, etc.

Jerry

Indeed IFB traffic is pretty interesting at times, remember when Al Verlay used to leave it open in the chopper.

Media Frequencies not in the database

Why don't these frequencies turn up in the database? Are these not included in the FCC licenses?

Thanks.

If I ever get a new scanlist out the Jeff Pilot listings will be listed as Lincoln Financial. Otherwise the old listing Jim posted is still correct.

Also add 166.250 for KFKA sports broadcast remote and 450.7375 as KCNC's secret squirrel  channel.

As to why some don't show up in the database consider that a number of broadcast operations have nationwide blanket licensing.
