Anyone have the frequency the new Helicopter in Hopkins county is using, or how they are dispatched ?

N63AE Air Evac LifeTeam 10 is based in Hopkinsville and started operations in September, 1999. Crew is Pilot, Nurse and Medic. They provide service to North Central Tennessee and Western Kentucky.

I know Air-Evac...I need the one in Madisonville, and I think they have one now in Paducah also from the same vendor.

PHI Air Medical operates two helicopters from bases in Madisonville and Paducah. PHI 21 started operations in late 2003 and PHI 22 started operations in May, 2004. Crew is Pilot, Nurse and Medic. The vendor is PHI.

i have been monitoring skymed on 153.995. this is a repeater input freq that you should be able to monitor on the county's 155.865 repeater.

Do you have the 10 UHF med channels. If not I will need some time to find them, as they are not used much in my area.

most of these services dispatch on a non-medical freq.... i am still looking from lexington but being five hours away that is difficult since i can't go to a scene and search for the "company" frequency.....

if you are a member of a volunteer fire department and have had the lz class from the chopper crewq simplay ask them for their freq, often they will give it to you...

Well just so you know, we (the firedpartment) don't need StatCare or anyone else's radio freq's. Our EMS makes telephonic contact with the helicopter service. Once in range they contact us on EMS freq 155.160 and only talk to one person. Reason for the one freq is because it is common in a large portion of Ky and also they cannot program their radio's with everyones particular radio freq. This is how StatCare and LIfeflight from Vandy do it, I'm sure the other services do the same. It makes it easier for the pilots considering they have to concentrate on observing their LZ and other factors on their approach. Nuf said.

i understand the way different aeromed services operate.... the three central ky choppers will usually talk directly to the person from ems/fd on the scene using the local freq so the folks on the ground don't have to change anything....

the freq you are looking for, unless they use one of the med channels, is the dispatch freq or the "company" freq. the reason i suggested that you ask them for their numbers is they are more likely to pass it along to someone from an area fire department than someone like me calling from another time zone....

statcare's freq from their glasgow base is 155.265, their louisville base uses 155.400 and 155.340.... never listen to vandy and still waiting for phi to license their new freqs....

I didn't actually ask for them. I had them on file, but they are seldom used in my area. Two others that usually go with that group. 462.950 & 462.975
EDIT / We have a med helo that uses 130.150 !

i am looking for other freqs but have come across these numbers that may help.... try these: 155.205 (listed to pennyrile community services in christian and hopkins counties this is also a freq used by other choppers in the state), 160.2 a freq i just found for air-evac, 152.9525 is another freq listed for air-evac.....

gop to this url and see if the cities/counties listed coincide with the a.o. of the chopper....

Air Ambulance units will monitor whatever county they are traveling to when called to a scene by EMS. They also have a dispatch frequency that they can talk to their central dispatch on. This also varies. PHI in Madisonville uses Medical Center's Dispatch as their freq. Air-Evac uses a different system since they are transmitting to West Plains, MO. Suppose for instance that the helicopter is responding to a wreck in Todd County. They would monitor Todd Counties frequency and do ground to air transmissions with IC in order to find out the patient updates and LZ info. Hope this helps.
Of course, the pilot also will monitor airplane frequencies and in the Christian and Hopkins County area will talk to Campbell Approach.
