• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

lifesaver uses 155.355 and southern link. In calhoun county when talking to fire or ems, they use the hear system 154.340 or mutual aid 155.010

I still have a printout as supplied by the Radio Shack store in Foley from 10+ years ago - listing "Southflight" on 155.280, "Lifeflight" on 462.950 but I haven't heard of those two in the Baldwin County area for quite some time. I normally don't pay too much attention to the Air Evac companies, so if anyone knows more about those two, I'll update or discard my list.

The VHF and UHF Southflight freqs are no longer being used. Since Lifeflight has taken over, they use UHF for primary operations. They do have a VHF channel which they used extensively until their UHF repeater went online. I can't say I've heard any recent traffic on it but here's the info:

Lifeflight VHF 155.2350 - 100.0 Hz
Lifeflight UHF 453.0250 - 110.9 Hz

Thanks, Jason. I started a new Air-Med page in my PC database - thanks for the updates.

Please refresh my memory: Does South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley have a helipad? I've been by there hundreds of times since 1985 and never noticed anything other than a possible LZ in the back parking lot ??? Just wondering...

Yes, they have one on the NW side of the building. Nothing fancy. You'll hear them on HEAR sometimes when they come to land.

These guys are located around the country.

On the FCC Database they are under the "IG" category. Below is a link.

Check the locations tab. I saw one license that included Huntsville, AL area.
