I noticed today that I am unable to get a good signal from the Ft Worth control channel frequency (454.5125) for the Megahertz Technology system. I had a good signal up until this weekend on the same antenna. I’m curious if anyone else is experiencing any issues. Other control channel frequencies appear to be silent, but I’ve never had great reception on any other than 454.5125 in my area.

Thanks.

Oh man, I wish I would have seen this post this morning... I was about a 1/2 mile from the WBAP tower in Fort Worth (where Megahertz's antennas are located) for about an hour, working on gathering data for updating the Tier 3 system. I could have easily switched over to the Connect Plus system to see if there was an issue.

I will say though the Tier 3 system was coming in strong, but was not very active. I also noted as driving towards the tower (via I-20 and I-820 to I-30) and then away from the tower (West of Downtown Fort Worth going towards Lake Worth), the signal on the Tier 3 system dropped off quickly. I'm not sure how the antennas for the 2 systems are configured on the tower, but there could be a tuning issue that is affecting both systems.

I haven't planned any more road trips while I'm on my week-long "stay-cation", so you never know, I might venture back that way later this week, and if I do, I'll check the Connect Plus system.

MW, I don't think Megahertz Ft. Worth has been updated since it was databased, I'd bet the LCN's are incorrect and it wouldn't shocked me if some of the channels have been changed.

You are likely correct, and that is why the methodology I use will find the control channel, and then can start piecing in the missing frequencies. If I completely document the site, I will update RRDB accordingly.

It seems that Megahertz is moving most of their systems off of the T-Band, and back to 450/460MHz UHF frequencies - as I have now documented (and have more updates for RRDB to be published soon) on their Hytera Tier 3 System.
