I was hoping that someone has mem files for harford and carroll counties, i want fire fighter activities primarily. if someone already has it it would be awesome if you could email it on over. im not too sure how to just track them down and manually do it. tin ear has been a god to me if it werent for him and his mem files id still be playing with the on and off knob :wink: .

Tracking them down is easy; check the RRDB. Piece of cake.

Check the Capitol Hill Monitors library page for ARC250; we do have a Harford file there, but it seems nothing for Carroll. It's a start, anyway. And it looks like the URL has changed:

Likely as not all you need do is to change the talkgroups in the scan lists, and you should be good to go insofar as Harford goes. If you develop a file, please consider submitting it to Alan Henney for inclusion on the page.

i got the harford county file but it was incomplete, i looked at the fire fighting bank only and there wasnt any talkgroup info, so i went to the rrdb and copied them over but then realized that the frequencys were different, so i think i ended up re-doing the entire thing, im not sure yet because i dont know the software as well as i'd like but i changed the frequency and trunk id's and i think those are the most important thing, but i could be wrong so please help me out

another problem in development of the file, i need a range which i do not know anything about, how do i determine the range, o btw i have a bc796d. i must be retarted i read the manual twice and am still clueless to programming it.

I am working off a backup copy of the harford file from the CHM website; you are looking at the wrong bank in the file. Bank 2 is conventional only; click on bank 10, and you will see the same frequencies as listed in the RRDB. What needs to change are the trunk ids associated with that bank.

In the editor, click on 'Trunk' then 'ID List' This brings up a seperate form where you can enter the IDs you want from the RRDB. You will notice that there are some there already; just copy/paste over them and you should be good to go.

The other banks are for other services and functions in Harford county. I would suggest making a backup copy of the original .mem file, making all the changes you need, then create a new .mem file, importing all the new things you want from bank 10 to wherever you want it to go.

I have no idea about a 'range'; be more specific. Exactly where on the form are you seeing this? 73s Mike

thanks much that makes sense. but the range issue is happening when i am uploading the info to the scanner (bc796d). when its flashing through all the menu's configuring, you can see it saying an error no limit data.

Unfortunately I don't have a 796- yet - and I see that several folks have seen your limit data message in the software forum and don't have a clue either.

Gommert Buysen is the author of the ARC programs, and he does show up here in the various forums, as well as numerous other places. If no one responds from here, he hosts a Yahoo support group at:

You might want to change that title and put ARC250 in there somewhere; Gommert will notice it a lot faster that way.
Lots of folks there who no doubt might be able to help, not just Gommert. As an aside, the NFM vs. FM issue is very easy to correct with the Easy Fill function if you need to change it.

I believe he has the problem solved Mike. It was a setting in the ARC250 program.

i think i also have it resoloved but im going to call uniden today to be sure. in the top menu bar there is a option for search and within that there is the range editor, i loaded the generic file for the 860-870 range and sent it to my scanner and there was no more error and it scanned correctly, but i wouldnt know if it werent scanning correctly also. im not that good yet.
tinear i have a finished file for harford and carroll (i think). take a look at the mem file for me if you dont mind. it is in the format i want to scan. ill email it to you.
