Just had MEMA (14:05)on their Channel 1 (143.04 - Was that you Nathan?) responding to someone they heard on the channel. The transmission was as follows: "This is MEMA Watch Center responding to unit attempting to contact us. You're scratchy and weak." However, the unit they almost heard was maintenance testing on the channel which was heard here loud and clear. The maintenance guy said he was on "Lima Channel." That's my question: Lima Channel in respect to whose list of channels?

National Guard perhaps?...because the Lima phonetic is usually military.

Never Heard of Lima Channel National Guard does not have a Lima Channel.

And no it wasn't me I am working nights now.

And no I would have told them to try back when they got it right I don't stand for a radio that doesn't work.

Also I would like to know who has heard MEMA and a General area of where you are located and what type of antenna you use. At MEMA we have a 190ft mono-pole with a Omni-Directional Antenna at 255 watts ouput from the radio now I do not know what type of gain our antenna has. Just trying to get an idea of who can here us on a Scanner. I live in northern Baltimore Co. and have 2 Scantenna and hear MEMA loud and clear.

Have Fun

Just the radio whip here Nathan and hearing a good signal from you. I mentioned that maintenance unit was loud and clear here to perhaps give an idea where he might have been since your antenna couldn't hear him. I'm not sure where your transmitter/antenna site is either. I was kind of amazed when MEMA couldn't hear him because his signal was so strong and clear. So he must have been rather low power and not too far from me I would guess.

A few weeks ago on a rainy afternoon I heard some people on that freq updating each other on traffic conditions. It was coming in loud and clear here in Pikesville with the RS 800 Duckie.

Hey Mo that was me on the Traffic Conditions then we moved to the Military Dept Radio's.

Tin Ear that is really interesting you can hear us on the whip. I can hear work on an portable at my house but cannot transmit back to them.

Also Tin Ear we are transmitting from Reisterstown.

Also I tried to give you guys an oppurtunity tonite and did some testing on that frequency.

Have Fun
