For those who are preparing to head back home following a long Memorial Day Weekend there's one important thing that many people forget to do...get plenty of rest.
KHP Lt. John Eichkorn says that last Memorial Day Weekend there were three deaths and 208 injuries on Kansas roads and highways. He adds that those numbers could have been lower if many of the drivers had not been sleep deprived.

First post set the mark from last year for deaths and injuries. Have not seen information on how deaths and injuries were this year but did find this release from KHP.

Hundreds Caught Not Buckling Up

The state patrol says it issued hundreds of tickets for seat belt violations over the Memorial Day weekend. Troopers say they wrote 413 citations as part of their "Click It Or Ticket'' enforcement. The patrol says it also made 63 arrests for driving under the influence.
