Memphis,any more news?

Has anyone heard anything else about Memphis.I haven't,but was just wondering if any new news out there.I was listening last night and heard some undercover ops watching a drug house off of Jackson.Pretty cool.

Have not heard anyhing myself. Were you listening to MPD or SCSO? If MPD, then they must slowly be coming online. Also, I believe they would encrypt their conversations.

Most likely SCSO and they have not switched on thier AEGIS Encryption in years..... When Memphis's system switches itll happen almost instantly.. one day youll not hear em... then youll hear em.. and within a year of that.... The entire new system will go online and the SCSO EDACS will suddenly go away.

What was the talk group that you were listening to? Was it Dec# 2033 AFS # 15-141? I listened to a little of it too pretty slow though. I also heard them follow a mustang a few weeks ago on another TG but I don't remember which one.

Not sure what channel and all that I was on.I just got the pro 96 and still not clear on all of it.I had put in the county freq.856.2125 thru 860.2125 EDACS I guess you call it.Yeah I think I heard them tailing the mustang too. Be safe and keep us posted

A way to ensure they will start encrypting their conversations is to point out for the world the sensitive stuff that they aren't encrypting right now.

If you can ignore the dispatch & court deputies talkgroups, you will pick up on some interesting things. Check this website for Shelby County talkgroups to be sure you have all of them in your scanner.

Heh, good call on the court. The only thing they ever seem to talk about is trying to track down the Spanish interpreter.

I find dispatch to be pretty interesting though.

You are right. The spanish interpreter can never be found. They are always looking for some attorney, too, who is not in the courtroom at the correct time. I guess he's with the interpreter. TG 02-025 is a good one to listen to.

I think we are getting close. Everybody is getting geared up for the big switch although they have not said how it will go exactly but I think they may not have a patch they may just switch one precinct at a time and for a time run two systems. I don't like it but then I'm not running it. I guess we will have to see how it goes. Keep you all posted.

Cool,can't wait till its up and running.I want to do a ridealong,do you guys still allow that? I had my application packet and was going to go through the hiring process back in 97, but my wife and I had our first child and she really did not want me to do it.Now she is ok with it and I really want to do it.Only thing is is im 38 now,and need to be in better shape for runnin and gunnin.Oh well,its in my blood and I crave it, So if I dont get off my fat ass and do it I'm not going to be happy.Take care and go getem!!!

And another new patched TG... 15-142 it seems to be a specail ops one.. was in use for the NASCAR Truck Race,.. and has a lot of activity.. so that makes two patched tg's.. 15-141 and 15-142
