Memphis area get together

This idea was born in the "Memphis/Shelby County APCO-25 Update" thread. Anyone who is interested in a local Memphis get together, please PM me your e-mail address. I'll send out a group e-mail and hopefully we can coordinate something as a group. Other than the group e-mail, your information will not be posted or released anywhere else.

Look forward to meeting some of you & swapping notes.

Memphis System

The Memphis APCO System is on the air. I have talked with one of the techs from Armour Center last week. He told me last Tuesday the 9th of August he made the first test transmissions. He told me they were using 859.4625 as the control channel for the apco system. I was listening to the Motorola engineers and techs last week. I am unable to listen to them this week as I am out of town for a couple of weeks with my job.I was also informed that they were in the process of planning out the talk groups now. I also heard from another source that they were going to keep the same talkgroups ids for the city as the ones that they are using on the VSELP system.I am sure they will have to develop talkgroups for the county users. I will post any new information as I receive it. I hope this is useful to all.

I've gotten e-mails and PM's from several of you. I'll try to do a group message later today. Sometimes work just really gets in the way! You all know the feeling.

RadioJonD had a great idea about attending the airshow in October, but I'm hoping we can get together before then as well. Based on the other thread, it looks like there is lots of radio upgrade activity going on here in Memphis as we speak.

So far, the get together is in the early planning stages. No time or place has been selected yet, but we are working on it.
