Does disabling some of the sites help with the simulcast problem? I was visiting Midtown Memphis over the weekend with my 436HP updated to the newest Uniden database. When it was scanning the Memphis, Shelby and Millington sites it was totally silent. Used the "Site Hold" feature to lock on the Memphis site (assuming it was closest to the radio) and channels started coming through. It still wasn't perfect... I got the sense I was missing A LOT of calls based on the number of police crime scene tweets the next morning. Does a single "site" still use multiple broadcast towers for data? Maybe I'm still having simulcast issues.

The 3 sites are all simulcast. That is most likely the cause of your problems. The Shelby County and Memphis sites carry most of the traffic. Not using the Millington site will speed up your scanning.
You can not truly disable SIMULCAST SITES they are all IDENTICAL The same exact frequencies all transmitting at the same time.

a whistler is not going to work that good on the new system due to simulcast distoration . it might work great 5 mins and then sound like crap for 55 mins. then repeat . like numerous people have mentioned a sds 100 or sds 200 is the best bet to monitor this new system
Well.... that just sucks. I just bought the TRX-1 cause the old whistler 1040 worked so well for me before the changeover. I'll admit I'm an extreme newbie to all this scanner stuff. I thought I had done enough research before I pulled the trigger on the TRX-1. Guess I shoulda done more. Ugh.
I can't thank you guys enough for helping a brother out. It's extremely appreciated.

I agree that the TRX-1 will probably have issues receiving the system. If 901Cajun tries my file in post #40, he will find out how well it works. He will probably need a SDS100 to do the job.

Curious if anyone is having issues with 155.340. I live in the Cordova area and its like a full dead carrier on this frequency, full bars and about -87dbm RSSi. It has been like this for over a week. A few months back it would do this for maybe a day or part of a day, then be just fine but it has been non-stop. I did unplug my ethernet cable to make sure it was not that. I have a Diamond D130NJ about 35 feet up and all has been well. Let me know what you all think and I thank you!

I just listened to 155.340 and hear the same thing you are reporting. I am in the west part of Germantown.
It was the same for NWTN Saturday also

What is NWTN? the 155.340 is airmed to hospitals, seems to me this would be a channel you would not want interference with. I have a friend that maintains avionics and he is going to talk to some Medco contacts to see what they know.
