Right here...
Have any of you over there in the western end of the state heard any news on how the new P-25 trunk system is coming along? I have not seen anyone posting anything about it recently. I understood it was going to be a Moneyrola 3600 like Nashville and the revamped system here in Chattanooga.

There is a very recent message posted to the RR Database for Memphis Public Safety that states the system will soon be upgraded to APCO-25 by April or May of 2005. It also states that Shelby County Sheriff will be on system. Is there any frequency information yet? I would assume there would be if the upgrade is only 4 to 5 months from now.

OK if its going to be an APCO-25 that means its going to be an Motorola ASTRO-25 9600 kbps pure digital system.. so you guys will need a PRO-96/PRO-2096, or BC296D/BC796D to monitor it..

At last we will be able to hear Memphis again! :)....

Now if Warren County, MS will get thiers upgraded from VSELP..... :(

Maybe Mattew T can shed light on it since he works for FDM as a dispatcher.

It will be upgraded (Should be anyway) during the rebanding process that will take place over the next few years.

I'll be happy when I'm able to monitor Cleveland, Ohio once again in the next few years. :)
