Noticed a PL of 114.8 on 45.60 for these two agencies, thought there was no PL.

They may not be "officially" pl protected. One explanation could be that, a long long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, one of the people responsible for programming thier equip, started to program tx pl, in preparation for them to go fully. The decision to go to full pl may not have ever been made, but throughout the years, equip started to get programmed with both tx and rx pl. That has happened to alot of our customers over the years. This is just my opinion on what has happened.

Thanks for the info. I had no idea that the Mendhams PL'd 45.60. My guess is this. Before going to UHF my town Roxbury was on 45.60 which drove Mendham crazy because we always stepped on them. When we went UHF Mendham had the frequency to themseleves for a while until the county added Netcong and Mount Arlington. My guess would be that Mendham is getting sick of them as well and finally decided to put a PL on it. They used to have a VHF cross patch to 153.890 if I am correct however I am not sure if that is active anymore.

Ahh Roxbury, the home of the one minute forty five seconds worth of paging tones to put out an all call. Talk about a waste of air time!

Getting back to Mendham, they also have two vehicle repeaters, one for Brookside and one for Ralston companies.
