This afternoon Mercy Air 34 went into service at Paso Robles Airport. On their instagram feed they showed a flight crew member making radio contact with AirComm via a handheld radio, then another snippet showed another quick video of them going into service via radio with San Luis. The question is what radio frequency is being used for handheld radio contact with their dispatch center? The dispatch for Mercy Air is in the midwest, and so there must be a VHF radio link via internet somewhere, but curious if anyone knows what the VHF frequency is.... yet.

Interesting. That'll take some calls from H70 (CHP) also based in Paso Robles, who has/had the contract for the north half of SLO County and from CALSTAR 7 (Santa Maria) who has the southern half of SLO and Santa Barbara counties.

I heard an Airbus and saw it was Reach instead of the usual CALSTAR over Santa Maria, didn't think much of it then.

There is Mercy Air 20 at Fort Hunter Ligget, they may have a remote base on Williams/Calandra that they'll be sharing. Not many licenses under Mercy Air, still wading through Air Methods licenses. They may also be using PoC/LTE devices as well.

Mercy Air 20 at Fort Hunter Ligget is dispatch by Ligget on Ligget's system

That's great!

To be honest their license hasn't arrived either. No pending applications either. Perhaps they'll be dispatched by County Fire or Medcom.

Probably a mix. With Skylife here in the Fresno area, EMS dispatch handles prehospital calls for Skylife and AirCom handles the inter facility calls. When one dispatches the bird, the other will acknowledge.

Info I got was they're primarily inter-facility transfers; due to other contracts, they're allowed for pre-hospital care only if no other airships available. No comm info yet, but they update their status to the SLU/SLOCo Fire ECC on County.
