A fatal six car crash has completely shut down the westbound lanes of Interstate 70, just east of Palisade.
Officials say just beore 7:00 Tuesday night, they received calls of a serious crash near milemarker 44. Authorities tell 11 News the crash involved five vehicles and one semi.
One person was pronounced dead on the scene and two others were transported to the hospital. At this time officials are not releasing details on the victims and they say the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Both westbound lanes of I-70 have been shut down while crews work and clear the scene. As of 8:30pm, officials say traffic is backed up for about 5 to 6 miles. They do not know when those lanes will be reopened.
