I'm a newbie and I'm wondering if there is something wrong with my scanner. Every time something comes across the scanner part of the transmission seems to drop/skip. It's really annoying to miss pieces of the conversation! Any ideas what is going on?

Look for the PRI button next to the display.

Otherwise, it's possible you are too far away from the transmitter?

Check to make sure that "Close Call" or CC is not turned on. That would also be a symptom on a 996P2.
