Is Ops 9 mostly used for training? If so can it be marked so in the database? Just an idea.

So does anyone have a problem with me submitting the change to Metcom ops 9 to a training channel? Maybe even Ops 11? Anyone??

Scanning since the 70's to today.
The question is have they used these TalkGroups in real world situations in the past or recently?

I have heard Metcom Ops 9 used for training this week, I can not recall hearing them use it for normal traffic. However I could be wrong. Thank for taking time to respond Phil!

Today they are training a " single story strip mall with heavy smoke showing " Yesterday I tuned in to hear of having an interior collapse with I think just a few injured.
It's training weekend indeed and remember they have to do the same situations for at least three shifts (A, B and C)
West Metro is also wildland training this am as well.

Notice in DB that (Training) was added to this Ops 9 TG.

As far as I know Metcom is going to take over West Douglas Fire dispatching duty's, so it could be listed there. I was referring to the Metcom listing under the Arapahoe County List.

Thanks Charles, had to check again being Arapahoe Cnty-alot of Ops 9 in DB..So it's my error.
Metcom took over West Douglas FD dispatching at the first of the year.
But remember South Metro FD is a large first district covering 176 sq/miles of Arapahoe and Douglas Counties and of course the cities of Parker, Centennial and Greenwood Village.

Wow Thanks Jim for passing on that link! Never realized Metcom has such a huge area. Would it be worth at leased putting a note in the Douglas County Database? That Metcom does dispatch for West Douglas FD? Or is that reinventing the wheel?
